Full time, Permanent, 37 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Regulatory team in a senior operational position, providing leadership and supervision to the Trading Standards section, ensuring that they fulfil the authority’s statutory duties and deliver their key priorities of fair trading, food standards, product safety, scams/doorstep crimes and illicit tobacco.
Trading Standards at North East Lincolnshire Council is a small, friendly multi-disciplined group within the Commercial Regulatory Team who aim to build a safe, fair and legal environment for businesses to thrive and to safeguard vulnerable communities. We are currently inviting applications from talented, motivated and enthusiastic individuals who possess excellent problem solving skills, and are innovative, collaborative and willing to lead by example.
You will have a Trading Standards qualification, either the Diploma in Trading Standards, DCATS or the equivalent and have a wide range of knowledge and experience in all Trading Standards subject areas, including investigating complex criminal issues. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a qualified Inspector of Weights and Measures or willing to work towards.
You will also be committed to continuing personal and professional development including maintaining relevant competencies and CPD requirements for a Trading Standards Officer.
In return we will offer flexible working, the opportunity for agile working and the necessary training and guidance to support you in your role. You will work under the direction of the Commercial Regulatory Manager with support and guidance from the Principal Officers.

We have one of the best stretches of coastline in the country, centred on the seaside resort of Cleethorpes and thriving towns of Grimsby and Immingham.
