Early Help Practitioner
The post holder will be part of North East Lincolnshire Council's Children’s Front Door. The purpose of this service is to provide information, advice and guidance to the public and professionals when a worry or concern about a child or family has been identified, ensuring that the right level of support is established first time.
The post holder (s) focusing on those cases triaged at early help and will work autonomously gathering information to ascertain the whole picture of concerns, offering information advice and guidance to promptly and effectively offer the most appropriate response to the concerns raised by the contact to provide positive outcomes for all children and ensuring those concerned are responded to by the most appropriate service area.
The aims are to:
- Provide a timely and consistent response to all enquiries, using the Signs of Safety Framework, regarding worries and concerns about a child and family and take a consistent approach to decision making, threshold of concern and service allocation.
- Investigate child protection concerns, alongside a Qualified Social Worker, and work closely with other agencies to ensure children are safeguarded at the point of referral.
- Utilise assessment skills to carry out decision making in contact with a range of multi- disciplinary professionals and family networks, working within tight timescales.
- Work in partnership with families to build resilience and keep families safely together, where possible preventing the need to escalate into statutory children's social care
