A new opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Part Time; Case Worker; Personal Advisor,

To be based in our Throughcare/Leaving Care Services in our Civic offices in Cleethorpes. The successful appointee will be working with young people aged 16 to 25 (although may include some work with under 16’s) who are in the process of preparing for semi-independent living and independence following on from being looked after by North East Lincolnshire council.

The post will also include working alongside unaccompanied asylum seeking young people

This role will involve holding a caseload of children/young people, with a remit to support pathway planning and transitional plans towards adulthood and independence.

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual able to work either independently with children/carers or as part of a team. We are seeking an applicant who has the commitment, knowledge and skill to engage actively in this role which will include, pathway planning, various report writing and preparation of assessment information, and sourcing and supporting accommodation, ensuring health needs are being met, and access to learning.

The successful applicant will have an ability to work in partnership with other services including our partner services.

Induction, regular supervision, and access to ongoing relevant training will be given to the successful applicant.

Knowledge of current legislation relating to Looked After Children and Care Leavers is required, along with a relevant experience of working with Children and Families, also the ability to work to and apply the values of social work. Ability to prepare reports and has relevant IT skills.

Qualifications; Evidence of a relevant experience/s and qualifications in regards to children and families is a requirement of this application.

Experience; At least two years experience working in a health, educational, social care or voluntary setting with adolescent or young people under 24 years of age.

Direct work with voluntary, private or statutory sector relating to children and young adults.

Has worked as part of a team. 

This post carries a requirement to work unsocial hours and some weekend hours for which an additional salary enhancement is applicable. Essential car user allowance and access to own vehicle.
