Vacancy Description

An opportunity has arisen to join the shared fraud investigation team covering North East Lincolnshire Council and North Lincolnshire Council.

The post is 20 hours per week and you will be employed on North East Lincolnshire Council terms and conditions.

You will be responsible for all aspects of fraud investigation including evidence gathering, surveillance, interviewing under caution and the preparation of cases for prosecution, working predominantly on Council Tax single residency discount investigation.

You will be required to conduct criminal investigations in accordance with relevant legislation and work closely with other Departments within the Authority and external agencies such as the Police, Magistrates' and Crown Courts.

The successful applicant will require an in depth understanding of the criminal justice system, including current legislation and investigative techniques. They will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, have experience of dealing with members of the public in difficult situations and will be able to work to their own initiative. The ability to produce high quality, concise and accurate reports/notes is essential.
